Magic Leap 2 (Limited Availability) helped define what modern enterprise augmented reality could look like. With advanced waveguide optics, dynamic dimming, a wide field of view, and a strong enterprise-focused platform, it became one of the most important true AR devices for healthcare, manufacturing, AEC, defense, and immersive visualization workflows.

At the same time, the market has changed. Magic Leap 2 is no longer a standard active option for most new deployments, and many teams evaluating optical see-through AR are now waiting for the next generation of lightweight waveguide AR glasses to arrive.

Availability Note: Magic Leap 2 is no longer a standard go-forward AR device for most new projects. Existing deployments may still matter, but many organizations are now planning around upcoming true AR platforms and future waveguide-based devices.

What Magic Leap 2 Represented

Magic Leap 2 remains an important device in the evolution of spatial computing. It brought together a professional-grade optical AR experience, enterprise software flexibility, and a wearable form factor that was far more practical than earlier generations of mixed reality hardware.

  • True optical see-through AR with digital content layered directly into the real world
  • 70° field of view designed for immersive professional visualization
  • Dynamic dimming to improve contrast in brighter environments
  • Enterprise-focused architecture for industrial, medical, engineering, and training use cases
  • Open development environment built on Magic Leap OS
Key Features
  • Advanced Waveguide Optics: One of the clearest examples of enterprise-grade optical AR, built for real-world use instead of simple media viewing.
  • Dynamic Dimming: Helped improve visibility of digital content by reducing ambient light interference.
  • Natural Interaction: Supported hand tracking, eye tracking, voice commands, and controller input.
  • Professional Performance: Built on an AMD quad-core Zen2 processor with 16GB RAM for demanding enterprise applications.
  • Lightweight Headset Design: More practical than many earlier AR/MR systems for longer professional sessions.

Why It Mattered for Enterprise AR

Magic Leap 2 showed that true AR could be used for real professional workflows, not just demos. It helped enterprises and developers explore use cases such as:

  • Healthcare: Surgical planning, visualization, training, and remote assistance
  • Manufacturing: Guided work instructions, inspection, safety, and digital twin overlays
  • AEC: On-site model visualization, design review, and BIM collaboration
  • Defense and Aerospace: Planning, simulation, and field support
  • Education and Research: Immersive 3D learning and advanced visualization
What’s Happening Now

The AR market is moving into a new phase. While Magic Leap 2 remains a major reference point in the history of enterprise AR, organizations are now looking ahead to new generations of true AR glasses that aim to be lighter, more wearable, and more scalable.

Industry attention is shifting toward:

  • Smaller and lighter waveguide-based AR glasses
  • More natural input through gesture, voice, and AI-assisted interfaces
  • Devices designed for longer wear and broader adoption
  • Future platforms that may better bridge enterprise utility and everyday wearability

Knoxlabs Perspective: Magic Leap 2 was one of the strongest examples of real enterprise AR, but the industry is now waiting for the next wave of optical see-through AR glasses that can deliver similar capability in a lighter and more scalable form.

Who Should Still Care About Magic Leap 2?

Magic Leap 2 is still relevant if your team is:

  • Researching the history and progression of true AR devices
  • Supporting an existing Magic Leap deployment
  • Comparing legacy enterprise AR hardware with upcoming platforms
  • Planning future waveguide AR pilots and need expert guidance

FAQ

Is Magic Leap 2 still available?
Magic Leap 2 is no longer a standard active option for most new AR deployments. Many buyers are now evaluating next-generation true AR devices instead.

Can I still buy Magic Leap 2 through Knoxlabs?
Availability is limited and project-dependent. If you are looking for Magic Leap 2 or comparable optical AR hardware, contact Knoxlabs with your use case and deployment goals.

Why is Magic Leap 2 important?
Magic Leap 2 remains one of the most important true AR enterprise devices because it combined advanced waveguide optics, dynamic dimming, spatial interaction, and a practical enterprise-focused platform.

What replaced Magic Leap 2?
There is no direct one-to-one replacement yet. The market is still waiting for the next generation of lightweight waveguide AR glasses to mature.

Is Magic Leap 2 the same as smart glasses?
No. Magic Leap 2 is a true optical see-through AR device built for spatial computing. It is different from camera-first smart glasses or simple wearable displays.

Should I wait for new AR glasses instead of buying legacy AR hardware?
For many organizations, yes. If your project depends on long-term scalability and future platform support, it may make more sense to evaluate upcoming AR hardware rather than building around aging systems.

What industries used Magic Leap 2 the most?
Healthcare, manufacturing, engineering, defense, education, research, and enterprise visualization were among the strongest use cases for Magic Leap 2.

Can Knoxlabs help us choose between AR, MR, and VR?
Yes. Knoxlabs helps organizations evaluate devices, use cases, rollout strategy, and future-readiness across the full XR stack.

How do I contact Knoxlabs about true AR projects?
Reach out with your industry, use case, quantity, and timeline, and our team can help you evaluate the best current or emerging XR path for your project.

Nice tire sealant.
Size: 32 oz
This seems to work very well. I will say that it seems to be pretty important to move the wheel around as soon as you can to distribute the product within the tire. I was held up for a few minutes and the Liqui tube seemed to start to set up in one spot and made the tire out of balance so I had to work quick to get it to distribute to the other parts of the tire. It seems to have worked though and so far the tires are holding air very well. I will be interested to see if it lasts for a long time but so far so good.

This stuff works!
Size: 32 oz
I was sceptical but wanted to avoid replacing 2 rear tires on my zero turn mower. The tires were leaking air and had bad sidewall cracking. I found the use of the product to be easy and quick. I aired up the tires and rode around the yard a few minutes to distribute the product in the tires. It has been 4 days and both tires remain aired up. Previously both tires would already be flat within this timeframe. Excellent results for me!

Doesn’t work for a car Tire seal slow leak
Size: 16 oz
Does not work for a car tire. Had a slow rim seal leak. Out 32oz in still leaks the same. Do not buy. I got the one with fibers in it. It worked just fine. This does not work. Period. $30 wasted actually I purchased two so I wasted $60 when I could’ve bought probably a new tire
